Any pull class for "stock"

I was wondering if there's a pulling class that doesn't require all the extra stuff- weights, different hitch etc. I'd just like to hook up my dail driver and see what she's got. But I know it's probablynot to smart to run what you plan on driving home huh?

I don't know about where you are, but here in West Tennessee, we have tractor/truck pulls at the fair. They have the usual circuit classes with the real strict rules, but after everything is done, they have a run what you brung stock gas and diesel class. So there is probably a pretty good chance they might. However, with the new diesels, some places are requiring driveshaft and universal loops on all shafts due to liability.

Thanks Red- I'm out in California, the gay state.... Is there really much concern for throwing a shaft?

It depends. They usually make you have a 6" long tube at least 1/8" thick over each universal, and one 2" ring 1/8" in the middle of the shafts. It's not so much throwing a shaft into the crowd, but i have seen blown universals come loose from the rear end and sling shot a pretty good ways. Some places will also make you put two 3/8" grade 5 bolts in the exhaust pipes withing 12" of the turbo. It really just depends. The diesels now have gotten so stout that they are no longer really run-what-you-brung like a few years ago. They just trying to keep everyone safe, and i understand it.

Same here on the other side of the state. You could run your truck, but you probably wouldn't stand a chance at winning, but it would be fun anyway.
