Mysterious vacum line: see picture

89 F250, 460/7.5, EFI, C6 Auto

Finishing up a lower intake manifold gasket job I realized I didn't mark ONE line!
To make matters worse, it's a plastic line and it broke (the line broke inside the plastic conduit, actual break not shown).

Any guesses where this pink vacum line connects to? SEE PICTURE

Thanks in advance!

no clue, and I could guess all night as to what it goes too. . .

maybe we should start with what you DID mark and reconnect?

I marked every single thing I disconnected, except apparently this one.
Maybe this was 'never connected' in the first place? Who knows, I'll continue to search for a possible port.

I think it used to be red and went to the Vacuum Tank.
Other items it could have went to are the MAP sensor or the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
One end of the red line will go to the Man Vac (Manifold Vacuum Source).
Here is the vacuum diagram.

I believe pink goes to the solenoids.

Yes, pink goes to the TAB or TAD solenoid and the diverter valve. Looks like it is close to a diverter valve, so check for a vacuum nipple on it.

Most times wiring and vacuum lines lay into the general place they need to go. It can't be far.

I just found a pic I had saved on my computer. It's a 96, maybe it will help though.

i've got a few general pics of the engine in my gallery, or can go look at the truck if you need me to do something.

It looks like it goes to that diverter valve. It will plug in on the back side of it.

Yes, I tried using the line's 'history' to see where it could go. However, since the line was broke it's hard to tell the actual distance it went.

Thanks for the pics and hints!

I'll let you know.

Unfortunately since the line is broke (inside the conduit) I can't use the 'line history'. The line certainly goes to something on the passenger side.
I'm still stumped. I'll get the tranny filter/pan job and the rear diff fluid projects done and come back to solving this mystery. I also gotta do the dang oil pan gasket.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll fill you in later.

Bringing this topic back to the top, I'm still mystified.
I'm finishing the oil pan job tomorrow (I hope) and need to get this mysterious vacum line fixed.

Remember, it's broke inside the conduit so I can't use the hose memory. Plus, it's been deformed (warmed up and slightly bent) from a drive previously.

Thanks again guys, bare with me on this 're-visit' to the topic.
