Molded Radiator Hoses? (Y-Block)

Hey everyone ... I'm gearing up for a motor swap, real soon ... a 292 Y into my '60 F-100. The guys at the Y-Block forum here have been real helpful with obtaining parts, etc., and I was hoping the '57-'60 guys here, and maybe the '54-'56 guys could help me.

I'm hoping to hook up the Y (to a stock rad.) with no flex radiator hoses. The AutoZone where I work lists a molded hose for the upper, but not the lower hose. I was thinking of just going in and trying to match one up, but then it occurred to me that maybe someone here had already done it.

So the question is, do any of you fine folks happen to have a part number (from any major store/manufacturer) for a molded lower rad. hose for a '57-'60 truck with a Y block? Thanks in advance.

How about the original 1957/60 Ford Part Numbers?

B9TT-8260-B .. Upper Hose (Motorcraft KM-231)

C2TZ-8286-D .. Lower Hose (Motorcraft KM-238)

I found a molded lower hose for my y-block to mopar radiator by building a jig and finding the perfect fit in a matter of minutes. Part no. 70445 at Advanced Auto.

This is not much help owing to the fact that I deleted the pics I had of the neat jig that I had made and recorded. Also not helpful is the fact that it is in my '54 and has a Mopar radiator. There was a flash of foresight when I recorded the part number on the wall of my shop, but that may only be helpful to me. Looks like you'd be better off with Numbers numbers.

Wow, that sounds better than I expected. The only question is, can I order these parts through a Ford dealer, or what?

Nope sorry, obsolete as the Dodo Bird. But, you may be able to cross the Motorcraft numbers over to something modern.

EDIT: FTE sponsor Green Sales has 10 of the lower hoses. Gen-U-Ine Ford originals. See their link above ^^^ type in c2tz8286d. No hyphens, just like that.

EDIT part II: They also have the upper hoses, 6 of them = b9tt8260b

Green Sales: 800-543-4959 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Green is the world's largest dealer in obsolete Ford parts.

I have a flex hose on the upper one, but my bottom hose is a molded hose and just bolted on. I am running a stock Y-block and the stock radiator.

Did you find something or so you still need the part number?

I would love to have a correct upper hose too, if anyone ever finds one that will fit. LOL

Question...

Are the metal upper hoses with connectors correct?... for what years/engines?

I have only seen those on the flat heads. I have no clue what the stock hoses on a Y-block look like.

After reading this thread last Friday,I decided to get one of the lower hoses, which I'd been unable to locate. Was only able to find an ugly flex hose.Apparently,a few others were following the same thread, because there was a run on them, and now there's just one remaining.Steve

Sorry Brian, but Ford never made a molded curved upper hose per se, for a 1956 F100. What they made was a smooth molded flexible hose, with cloth sewn in between the two ply hose. The hose came in a length of 36" and was cut to fit. (I can see the questions coming..."R U sure?" "A molded flexible hose?" Yes).

51A-8333-A .. Molded Flexible Hose ~ 36" long x 1 1/2" I.D. = REPRODUCED - also used on Flathead V8 cars & trucks. Not only is the hose reproduced, but has the correct Ford script on the hose.

Uh huh...

Ford offered those too: 1954/56 V8: C2RZ-8260-D.

Don't bother calling Green Sales, they have none.
