Thumbs up Is there a Parts Warehouse for 534 V8 engines?

Less than 2 weeks to go before a big emergency vechicle show and meet and my 1971 C900 Ford/Howe pumper just lost its water pump on the 534cid engine. Not to worry right? Wrong!

Napa Auto Parts tells me 2-3 weeks for one from the manufacturer. Are they kidding? I cannot keep pulling over and lifting the cab to ad 10 gallons of water and will miss the meet otherwise without a new water pump.

I know the 534 V8 engines are obsolete but this is scary to drive this Fire Truck far from home if it will need to sit on the side of the road for 3 weeks waiting on a part.

Does anyone have a line on new and/or rebuilt engine parts in-stock (specifically a water pump!) for the original Super Duty engines?

last time this happened to me, I was able to buy the "wrong" water pump( right housing--wrong fan hub) Pressed off the old hub and pressed it onto the new pump. It's still in operation. Country boys can survive!

Hi what pump did you use? I have the same problem, I need a water pump, but our napa has nothing and is not intrested in helping look for one. I am always looking for a good parts supply if some one knows of any

thank you

Water pumps are really simple & any local machine shop should have (or access to) the seals and be able to press them in. Another potental option:

May be a little off topic, but where does everyone get parts for these trucks?
Napa has been zero help at all.
I was able to find a set of plugs for my 477 on e bay, but as far as anything else goes, no luck anywhere. I called a few independent parts suppliers that did not seem interested in helping.

Would anyone know of a reference that could show what ford car parts are compatible with these engines?
