Oil Leak!!!!!
Just changed the oil today and found that I've got an oil leak!. It seems that my remote oil filter hose is leaking. Wouldn't ya know it, but Auto Zone and Pep Boys have know idea what I'm talking about. Then both stores went on to tell me that Ford doesn't use remote oil filters!!!! ($*(#&#$*&#$(*@#$(@#@#@#(( Those sons of !!!!! Anyhow does anyone have anyother ideas besides the dealership. They want $140 just for the hose..
Thanks

Oil Leak!!!!!
Look in the yellow pages under hydrolics. A good shop will be able to custom fabricate the hose and fittings. If they can't fabricate it they have someone in the local area that does it for them. You will most likely get a better quality hose and fitting this route than going with OEM.

Oil Leak!!!!!
Well I replaced to remote oil line with a new hose from Ford. Fixed the leak. Now I've got a white oil looking substance on my oil cap and in the neck of the oil spout. I'm guessing water/ condensation.
What fun

You'd be correct. Don't worry too much about it. A couple scenerios that could cause that to happen. As the engine cools, condensation can form around the cap due to weather, puddle splashes etc.
The other one is that water from last night's condensation within the engine is evaporating and escaping through the filler where a bit recondensates (a word??) at the filler neck & cap. Wipe it off. As long as your oil doesn't look like that, it's no big deal.
And another reason for that white milky stuff could be that maybe, just maybe, you're loving your truck just a bit too much.
