Small Blue Light?

In my 04 FX4 I have a small blue light located beside the pedal controls on my dash. I have no idea what this light is for, and can't find it anywhere in the manual. Any ideas?

It is an alarm light. I have the same one in my truck. Check to see if you have an aftermarket alarm installed. If so and you didnt get the remote for it buy one for it and program it and you have a free alarm.

Activation light for the Particle Beam Weapon mounted behind the grill.

Like black04lariat says, it's an alarm light.

Thanks for the reply to my post. If I do have an aftermarket alarm, where would I look to find it? Oh, and your PM mailbox is full, may want to clear it out.

led

It looks like a LED for an alarm or remote start system. More than likely, the "brain" of either system is under the dash on the drivers side. Also look for a safety switch under your hood.

Thanks for letting me know that. First you may want to see if you have an alarm antenna up on the windshield area just to get an idea if you may have one. A lot of times when people take alarms out they will leave the LED in place so there isnt a hole there cause the LED's are cheap to replace. You can also look underneath near the steering column for the brain usually zip tied up with numerous wires going to the ignition harness. They are usually a black box with numerous plugs coming off of them. Wires wont usually be covered with 'loom' either.

I know under my hood it says, "this vehicle is equipped with remote start system". If that's the case, how does it work?

I jus' "snagged" a few "Testing and promo"(sorry not for FTE use) -unmarketed Blue-tooth kits... one brand in particular had a baggie full of 5mm blue LEDs.

Also....from past exp. I've seen the blue LEDs come with UNGO ("High-output" & long range systems) and Avital alarm systems...

Of course anyone with some sort of elect. experience could run off to thier local Radio Shack or Digi-Key and pick up blue LEDS instead of using a "standard" red... So I suppose we're shootin' blindly....

On Edit... upon seeing your newest post... I'd start looking for a additional keyfob or take a closer look to the one you may already have.

It was most likely a DEI system. If so there should be some kind of wire running thru the firewall to most likely an injector to grab the tach signal...unless the installer used voltage for the remote start. If you only have the factory remote for the doors it sounds like the previous owner had an alarm/rem start in there and probably took it out prior to selling and forgot about the sticker.
