Was doing some comparison reading today. The 4.6l in my 99 Expy is rated at 240HP and 293 lb-ft of torque. Edmunds lists the 2001 4.6l at 215 HP and 290 lb-ft of torque??? Are you kidding? Is anyone driving around with this engine in their truck??? That must really be awful!! I can't imagine.

 

Could be a misprint, or someone finally began rating the power of the 4.6l for what it really is.

In 99 it went up to 240 horsepower, and it HAS NOT gone down. You can go to the Ford site right now and look at the Expedition specs.

 

That's a mistake on the part of edmunds for sure. I guess it's a little much for them to correctly follow all the verious options on the hundred of vehicals and be 100% right. Just goes to show you that you need not believe everything you read, if it sounds strange dig a little more as you did.
