Who's up for a trip to ClearLake this weekend?

I think I'll have one day to make an "Up and Back" run, but unsure if it'll be Saturday or Sunday, I don't know if Dan is even available or wants to work on the beast, but I'm pretty sure I have a day open.

Dan,

You okay for some company this weekend?

I can't this weekend as much as I would like to. My son needs to borrow my truck to pack up all his stuff he has stored here to move it to the house I bought for him. To be specific, the house is for my grandson and my son is going to pay for it. I just extended my credit to aquire the property.

Just met Dan(2)- our Navy Jet Mechanic. He is coming over Sunday and we will strip some parts off the 89 and get it loaded onto the dolly for its last trip.

Just a double check, but do you guys want the power steering sector and linkage? It is mounted in front of the axle.

Yeah, let's get it Clint. I think it's the same as the box I fitted to the truck and now I don't have that one anymore.

Mike, I'll be around and will always welcome a visit from you. I'd planned to work on the truck this weekend anyway...(after all, what else have I got to do...?)

Well, this Saturday I need to attend yet another funeral. A friend of mine has passed and I really need to be there to state my mind, one last time. Rest in peace Sherm...

Then, after that, I am scheduled to work a 48 shift starting Sunday.

Needless to say, I can't make it. I hate to always have to post excuse's. It's been one hell of a year...

Anyway, when is the project truck going to be in the Sacramento area? I am heading over the hill next week and might be able to make a stop. Not sure, but need data to plan at this point. You know, the wife and all, can't spontaneously blow out the door on an adventure of the moment... Maybe I will luck out and be able to meet up with some of my FTE bretheren...

On edit, Tigerdan, I really would like to get together for some guitar and mandolin jammin. Can we ever make contact?

I don't know that I mentioned it, but I used to be a passible musician myself. Trumpet, sax, guitar, bass...

My guitars are currently out on loan (even my '73 Les Paul Custom), but if somebody else has a git fiddle to share, acoustic or electric, I could join in.

Aaaaaaaa!!!!!
Chet, I know there was something I liked about you!!!
Les Paul Eh? And the Bass?... We could always use a bass, right Dan? Tumpet? I used to play Tenor Sax, but cna't remember what them buttons were for.
F'Course, both you and Dan could obviously make me look like a punk kid under the influence of rap music... Ha ha ha. But it's always fun to jamm.

How 'bout you AndyM? You still out there???

Well Dan, retirement is just around the corner for me. Potentially anyway. Then I can look for a more conventional job.
Until then, we just gotta get creative, eh?

Last call..

Gonna be a good day!...I spoke with Dan tonight, and we'll hook up early AM...may not be a lot of Project Truck" happening, but we're gonna dial in his welder for sure and I'm going to try and get a good idea of his front suspension, and get some ideas to get the rear up as well.

Anyway, I'm offering that Dan will buy us all lunch at a fancy place...ala-taco-de-juer...

Or maybe not...but ya get the idea.

Damn, I was hoping to drive up, but I have to help a friend move out immediately. Divorce is nasty.

Good luck and enjoy the tacos. I'll see you guys on the 25th.

Mike, if you get bored, stop by my place in Vallejo on your way up or back down.

Dang Karl...I have to look over a MAP...I did see a sign somewhere that said "Vallejo 77 miles"

Not that I'd have detoured from BFE (sorry Dan, but you are way the heck out there).
