4.6l idle

I have a '97 f150 with the 4.6l.After changing the air filter the motor has a very erratic idle and will die when pulling up to a stoplight.Truck runs fine after idle and has plenty of power but always dies at a stoplight, starts right back up and runs fine.I looked on the service bulletins and #9869 says it deals with this same problem but doesn't give a fix.Any help would be appreciated.

4.6l idle

Just a shot in the dark, but this has all the signs of a vacuum leak that the idle speed control motor/O2 feedback loop can't react fast enough to when the throttle is released. I suggest taking another look around where you were working to see whether there's an unnoticed loose hose or something like a gap at an intake pipe flange.
