4.6 with water in the oil
I have seen head gasket problems in the 4.6 How much were the cylinder heads milled? Did you mill both heads? Did you replace the cylinder head bolts? Lastly, did you have the cylinder heads pressure checked for crack leaking? If you did, did the shop test the cylinder heads at 60lbs of air or more? Sometimes these heads will not leak until higher poundage is applied. If yes to all, compression test all cylinders to see if one is down. If none are down, do a leakdown test. Sometimes this will point to the bad cylinder.

i had the heads milled .007". yes, they were both done. new bolts too. the guy that milled the heads said that he checked them and he found nothing. i will get a hold of the guy and ask what pressure he tested them at. so if i do that test, it will show me if there is a crack in the block? how would i do the tests?

THERE IS ONE OTHER PLACE YOU CAN FIND A LEAK,NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THE FACT THAT THERE ARE FREEZE PLUGS IN THE CYL. HEADS!!!!! POOR COOLING SYSTEM CONDITIONS [WILL] CAUSE THESE PARTS TO LEAK. THE PLUGS ARE IN THE FRONT OF THE CYL. HEAD AND WILL REQUIRE YOU TO REMOVE MOST OF THE BELT DRIVEN ***.,VALVE COVERS,AND TIMING COVER.MAKE CERTIN TO RELACE BOTH OF THEM AS YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO REPEAT THE OPERATION BECAUSE ONLY ONE WAS LEAKING. I HAVE FOUND THE ONE ON THE D.S. [3 OUT OF 5] WILL PROBIBLYYYY BE THE ONE THAT IS GIVING YOU THE TROUBLE. ALSO AS WE ALL KNOW THIS CAN CAUSE OTHER FALIURES. GOOD LUCK! LET US KNOW HOW YOU DO.
