Ford stromberg 2b ???
Have not started it yet,but I just installed 3 rebuilt strombergs and a offy intake on my engine. And it looks great. But I do have a question ? I do have a high pressure/hi-volume fuel pump on it. And I was told I better install a fuel pressure regulator on it. The reason being he said that a stromberg only should have 3 to 4 lbs. of pressure to the carbs.Which I thought was not much. Anyone know what the fuel pressure should be on stromberg ???
THANKS !!

The pressure of 3 to 4 is about right, those needle and seats and small floats were known for flooding. There is one thing that is overlooked, back when we ran them we didn't have good inline fuel filters or vitane needles, dirt was a big factor in our flooding problems. I would guess that if the needle is closed the normal Ford pump may have peaked at 6 or 7lbs. Kotzy

" EFFIE " Nothing wrong with tinkering. Its almost a daily thing with me. I have 2 that I built from the ground up and now I am into my 3 project. Hopefully it will be driveable at least around the neighborhood in a month. Pictures of mine have been posted on FTE, I guess about 6 to 8 months ago. I am not like most, I am into trucks that are not normal. What I am looking foward in building next is a 51 Ford school bus.
Currently I have A : 1950 Ford/Holmes F-6 wrecker. Its not a home made like
most. The beds made by holmes. Its a split boom truck, with
dual large pto winches, then 2 more to control the booms.
also it has factory outriggers. and a 12 lb pto winch behind
the front push bumper. Finished driving truck.
1952 Mercury truck. Its my pride and joy its a full size
4 door truck with a 8 foot pickup bed. Its a 1 ton dually.
Yes its long 22 ft bumper to bumper. With 11 1/2 ft running
boards between the fenders. Its a driving truck tags and all.
but needs a headliner and carpet. Its got 4 leather captians
chairs in it with a floor and over head center console. I am
not a interia person, Been looking for some one to tackle the
interia with out wanting a arm and a leg.
1951 Is the year I am working on now. and hopefully will be
done soon.
And yes I like to thank guys on FTE. Some of them have been very helpful in building these trucks over the last several years answering questions. I am not bashful, I do ask. Have a fun with your truck Later !!!!

for the most part my truck is a nice runner right now but im putting 2 94 holleys on a edelbrock 2x2 polished intake with polished finned edelbrock heads. Im hoping for the 4 inch crank and an iskey max 1 cam. Id like to go 30-40 over and install performance pistons etc. Other than that theres the 9" rear with 3:73 gears, which is in process of being blasted and painted. Im taking out 2 leaves in the front and 3 in the back and switching oil pans to do so (mines a 53 car pan). Ive done a little sprucing up of the interior but still needs new kick panels, door panels, headliner, panels behind seat and window. They are an ugly green/yellow velour with black vinyl inserts right now, yuck! I need to get rid of my bi-ply tires too and rebuild my steering box. Hopefully that keeps me busy this winter. I get a lot of help from Fomoko1 (moderator of man/sask chapter) and a lot of other guys in the chapter. They are great!
