I just purchased a 2001 F250 PSD. The previous owner had installed this ranchhand bumper http://ranchhand.com/frontbumpersummit.htm . He did not reinstall the fog lamps and they did not come with the truck. I have found some aftermarket lights that will mount in the bumper and will work well. My question is about the wiring. The exisiting wiring for the factory lights is still ther. They have what appears to be a 2 pin clip that I assume would have attached to the factory lights. Can I tap these wires for the aftermarket lights and have them work with the factory pull out portion of the light switch?
Yes, will work fine. I would do the mod that allows you to turn on the fog lights with only the running lights though. As the switch is right now on the 2001, you have to have the lights all the way on in order to get the fog's to come on. Do a search and you will find the mod. There are a couple different ways to do it.
