headers (again)

I took the tag off the third member last night and was surprised that it was still readable. here's the numbers off the tag maybe someone can decode them for me.WBG-H2 3-39 4CB 304 the B on the 4CB was pretty beat up so it could posssibly be a 2. also does anyone know how many years a person could interchange parts on he I6's. they still run the 300's but the castings have changed over the years and a lot of the newer parts wont bolt up to to the older 300's. As far as the 16 mpg goes i was just guessing. i have never actually tested it. i do know that it gets better than twice the mileage my 390 gets. the 64 4WD is pretty much wound up at 60 mph. thanks Dutch

Dutch are you sure thats not a 3-89 on the tag. If your wound pretty tight at 60 and it being a 4x4 a higher ratio number would make sense. Common numbers I've seen are 3.70, 3.89, 4.10. Some body will be along shortly to decode your axle tag. As a suggestion you could change the subject of your thread to decode axle tag or something like that. I looked at your thread and thought more header questions then was surprised to find an axle question.
