Smile Great Idea!

i just thought this would be good to know if you have electronic 4x4. my control board or something is messed up, so im putting in a manual t-case, but thats beside the point. Anyway, if your 4x4 wont work, for any reason besides the hubs, you can take the motor off the transfer case, take out the three screws on the position sensor, and take the gear out of the motor. then just but the parking break on, put it in nuteral and you can shifgt it in by hand. the t-case has markings that the shaft will point to to tell you what it is in. if it wont go, let the truck roll a little and try again. ...........cfrives and i figured this out a couple weeks ago.

The motor's that are on the back of the transfer case go bad if they get just a little water in them. They are very easy to replace. I replaced many in the 11yrs I worked in a Trans shop. Motors are much easier to replace, than cutting a hole in your floor for the shifter of a manual shift transfer case.
