I just had to go pick up my mustang from the shop and on the way back I was folowling my truck(2002 f250 Mbrp 4" exhaust) and it sounded like a lawnmower with the blades spinning. It only sounded like this during slow acceleration. During harder acceleration it would get drowned out by the normal diesel rumble. Could I possibly have an exhaust leak at the turbo?
Are you trying to describe a large fan sound like a lawnmower makes when the blades are spinning?
If so, it sounds like your clutch fan is locked, either from normal operation because it's hot out and you are using your AC, or it's malfunctioned and siezed on the shaft.
that could do it too..must be i havent heard my fan come on yet...but my friends said when they are behind me at low speeds..my truck sound like the jetsons space buggie....
I have AFE stage 2 intake but no straight pipe exhaust, and yes that is what is sounded like kwik, where and how would I check to see if the clutch fan was siezed to shaft. AC was not on.
truck "NOT" running grab fan and give it a spin..it should move with very little resistant..also give it a wiggle make sure there is no play in the bearing..
