Brake pedal creeks?

Hey all

Couple days ago, my brake pedal started creeking/squeaking. It does that when I apply brakes and when it comes back up when I let it go. By the sound, it definetely comes from the pedal itself inside the cabin.

How do I fix it? It gets very annoying

Thanks a lot again. It seems like recently my truck needs a lot of attention

Does the pedal feel soft or mushy too? Might be time to flush the brake fluid.

Coming from under the dash? Common problem on all Ford products: most likely the booster/actuator rod. You MAY be served with applying a white lube spray...

There's a dust boot through which the rod travels to the booster. I'd give that a shot. That failing, you may have to replace the booster to correct this concern...

Me too, me too, me too! But, the sound makes just the PERFECT turkey call. I'm going to want until after next spring's gobbler season before I fix mine.

noise

jeepers you guys---stop talking about this or it will happen to me!

I did have a activation rod on a Cutlas many yrs ago that was binding up and making noise and had to replace the booster and Master C. It was a much bigger job than I anticipated---but got it done---

I sure don't expect to have to do it before 100K--knock on sheet metal mine is OK for now----

Got a 2002 4x4 expy that just started doing the same thing, almost sounds like a low level grinding, pedal does it on the way down and when returning to the top.

I took the car to the mechanic to look at the brake pedal. He discovered that the adjustable pedals do not work anymore. The pedals are stuck in one position and do not move when using the up/down switch on the dashboard. He said that it might be the cause of the problem. What do you all think?
How much would it cost to replace the adjustable pedal motor and switch? (Even if that is not the cause of the creeking noise, I would still like to get my adjustable pedals working again)
Thanks a lot in advance

Great example. I've been trying to find the words to describe this annoying noise. I've done searches on the term "squeaking pedal", "noisy pedal", "creaking pedal".....never thought of "turkey calling pedal"!

Want to bump this one along. Has anyone got any resolution to the problem? My pedal has been making this horrible creaking noise for the past year. I tried spraying Kroil (the same magical stuff used in removing spark plugs from the heads) but it isn't hitting the right spot.
