Decisions, decisions.
I'm going to paint this aluminum bellhousing (after suitable prep work), but what color: Ford engine gray, or semiflat chassis black (like everything else)?
Or something completely different?

Take a wire wheel to it and polish it up. They look great. You can even get some Wenol metal polish and really get a luster from the aluminum. If you paint it, go with black or Ford blue.

The wire wheel effect does wonders. If you paint it, I always try to pick a color scheme. Acouple of colors. The current Truck I am rodding has a Ford Red block and Black heads. Plasticote makes an engine enamel that is hard to beat spills and leaks wipe right off. You can sure do alot of eye candy with a good cleaning a some paint.
