Programmer Just For Changing Tire Size and Speedo Calibration?

Huckg,
If you have a 2001 5.4L than it is doing nothing. The Superchip ups the motors hp, etc., but it is not correcting the speedo, as you see. Yes, during the programming it ask you what size tire you have but that is default for use with other models and even when you enter the size it does nothing. The trans shift points and other performance feature are calculated by the computer after the speedo. So, if the speedo is not right, than the shift points will be wrong! It is unnfortunate but you must use a TruSpeed and something to correct the speedo to get everything else back in order! Trust me it makes a world of difference. I think that is the reason everyone here says to regear, regear, regear. It is because most people don't consider this. If you think the oversize tires are the WHOLE reason the truck runs weaker and acts lazy after bigger tires you are wrong. Get the speedo fixed and 75% of your power will show up again because the truck is talking to it self correctly.

This is only a problem with the 2001 5.4L. Not just Superchip either. A lot of the programmers missed the speedo on our models because there is something different about the factory software on our year. The programmer companys, to keep their cost down, try to make one programmer work for as many models as possible and somethings are missed that are different between models. That is why you should do good research when paying one to make sure it does exactlly what you want on exactlly your model. Don't just read the outside of the box, read the fine print, HA, HA.

I have the SCT SF 9415 for my 04' 6.8l. I put in the revs per miles and the tuner adjusted the speedo and shift points for the larger tires. (GPS showed it worked)
If SCT does not show a tuner for a particular engine or year they can still tune it. You have to go to an SCT dealer and they take a Blank SF 9400 and custom load what you want.
Superchips, Hypertech and Edge are somewhat limited with their adjustable parameters.

That is what the dyno shop I found is going to do with my truck. While on the chassis dyno they can take a blank card and make any custom load for the above normal engine mods, like cams, bigger injectors, air intakes plenums, racing octane, etc. You can put a hotter cam in a truck with the other programmers and you may still get some increase in proformance, but not all that you might can, because they are still assuming you have a stock cam. So, you must get a custom tune when you start changing more than the usuall stuff. Mass flow air intakes, custom exhaust, bigger tires are no problem for most over the counter programmers.

An old threat opened up after so long.
I installed a set of 285/45/22 tires on my 2014 Limited. I just returned from the Ford dealer and unfortunately their programmer only has the one size option for calibrating the odometer reading. It really doesn't make any sense to me why they even have the one if that's all there is.
Anyhow, I found this programmer that only for adjusting tires size. Speedometer Calibrator - Hypertech In case anyone is interested.

If the software only allows for tire sizes up to 35", can't you tell it you have a taller gear ratio if you have bigger tires? It seems like that would accomplish the same thing.
FWIW, my SCT tuner has options for tire size and for gear ratio, and neither one of them seem to make any difference in my speedometer. It reads low, no matter what I do (35" tires with 4.30 gears).

Trucks built after 2012 cannot have the tire size changed due to EPA regs (according to a local dealer). Even my 2007 is limited to what was offered by Ford for that model year, which isn't much.
And you have to have the dealer change the settings in order to get the signal all the way where it needs to go; changing it with an SCT programmer (and others) doesn't get the change to the ABS module, which is what drives the speedometer.
