fuel starvation when vertical
I'm new to this forum on this site, and also to all things 4x4. I was going up a little trail (maybe a 30 degree angle) and my '66 f100, 4x4 w/dana 60 4.10, started sputtering like fuel starvation. Whats the reason and cure for this? Laymans terms for the ignorant, please.

The two cheapest fixes are increasing the curb idle (what I do) or change the vent tubes.
The Motorcraft 2150 is a good off road carb as stock units go if you wanted to grab one off a junk vehicle and rebuild it.
You don't say if you have a 2bbl or 4bbl or what engine or what carb is on there now. More information = better solutions.

Thanks for the lot of info to think about. This is for a 300ci straight six, 1bbl.
Quadzjr: How much are we talking about for the Avenger carb?
Rebocardo: This is a daily driver. Still a good carb adjustment/upgrade to Motocraft 2150? No experience tuning carbs but good at following directions. Thanks for the propane suggestion. I haven't looked at our forklift fuel lines or fittings lately but how complex can it be? Is this a simple transition?

I believe there is even a tax incentive for converting your vehicle to propane. Check with your local tax office. Here in Texas, the tax break was larger than the cost of the kit.
