5.0 to 460 swap

I am replacing the weak 5.0 in my 92 F150 with a 1975 460. I have removed the computer and harness to sell with the 5.0. Is there a simple way to identify which wires I need to connect to for the ignition and instruments? Any help appreciated.

something that is often overlooked when doing this swap is if it is legal in your state under current pollution laws.
as much work as it takes, check first.

almost forgot, as far as wiring, get the diagrams from both vehicles or contact somebody like painless wiring to see if they have a harness available.
getting the 460 to run is no big deal, it is making sure sensors for computer are bypassed or hooked up properly to give proper performance.
an example of the problem with sensors is in the ignition timing advance, which is computer controlled on later models, but may be mechanical or vacuum controlled on early models.
the early advance systems will work in your truck, but the speed sensors may cause fuel delivery or other types of problems.

I live in Florida-no emissions tests or vote recounts- so no problem there.

I live in Ft Walton Beach. Been here 15 years and have never had to have an emission test. They are not required.

It wont be long guys and Florida will probably have the smog and emmisions crap also . So it might be something for you to think about before all of the swapping .
