almost forgot, as far as wiring, get the diagrams from both vehicles or contact somebody like painless wiring to see if they have a harness available.
getting the 460 to run is no big deal, it is making sure sensors for computer are bypassed or hooked up properly to give proper performance.
an example of the problem with sensors is in the ignition timing advance, which is computer controlled on later models, but may be mechanical or vacuum controlled on early models.
the early advance systems will work in your truck, but the speed sensors may cause fuel delivery or other types of problems.

what part of FL do you live in? I live in Crystal River (bout 50 miles north of tampa) and i would like to know about emmission tests too. are there no more tests in the state of FL? thanks,
