it says a V6. its either a 4.2L or 4.4L. thats what it says in the mag. the base engin come from a land rover V6.

just stating what was printed in the mag. i have also heard rumors that there might be the option of a V6 or a V8 diesel.

It is based on the 2.7l V6 jointly developed by Ford and PSA (Peugeot and Citroen).
They have released a 3.6l V8 version (available in the Range Rover elsewhere in the world).
The 4.4 will be pretty similar to the 3.6l (i.e. its essentially the same engine, the 4.4l capacity makes it easier to meet emissions requirements however - lower compression)

Are they going to offer a lifetime warranty on all of their new units as Chrysler just announced yesterday?

The ONLY reason Chrysler is offering this Lifetime Warranty is to move stale inventory. Chrysler has over 200,000 unsold cars/trucks. Some are 2006 models. Thousands are stored all over Detroit in storage lots. Chrysler even rented an unused fairgrounds and that's full. Motor Trend says..."At least the 1000's of Dodge Stratus' are stored close to the airport rental car lots."

The stale inventory: Dodge Rams; Jeep Commanders; Dodge Stratus'

You can bet the farm that when the inventory is reduced, the Lifetime Warranty will no longer be offered. The Lifetime Warranty is only valid for the original purchaser, it cannot be transfered.

I wouldn't be surprised that it still will be offered - in all honesty, a non-transferrable warranty wouldn't cost a company a whole lot.

Good for marketing too...
