Dealing With Ford

Sent my 2003 6.0 with 95,000 miles in to get an oil leak and the engine surge fixed under warranty. Paid the $100 and they fixed the leak and replaced an injector which they thought was causing the surge. Picked the truck up but it still had the surge so I brought the truck right back in and they have had it for four days and have called ford engineering and so far they haven't been able to find the problem. Service manager called and said he is willing to try the things ford engineering recomends but ultimately I am responsible for the diagonostic time($110 per hour) if they can't find the problem or if it is a part not covered under warranty and wants to know how far I want to go with this. Is this how this works? Seems like I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. Anyone been through this who can give some advice?

Wow: What a dilemma, you need it fixed but an open ended OK to diagnose on your $ would not be good. Especially since they have yet to find the culprit. I would push harder for them to pay for the diagnosis. Good luck!!!!!!!!!
