Need some ULSD travel tips

I'm getting ready for Corvettes at Carlisle, PA next month. Last year I had my 6.0 as my tow vehicle, so ULSD wasn't an issue. Driving up from Florida to PA, I am curious if ULSD is available all up the I95 corridor. Has anyone done this trip yet? Thanks in advance.

Just last month I made a trip from Austin to Knoxville in my '08 F-250 and there are still many stations that do not have the ULSD label. Not sure about the I95 corridor availability, but I would make sure you check the label at every single pump.

I'd use as many truck stops as possible. However, I was in a Pilot the other day and the automotive diesel pumps were still LSD and the commercial vehicle pumps were ULSD. Be careful, if in doubt, ask the fuel desk manager.

You will not have any problem finding the new fuel . I have traveled up and down I-95 and I-75 on the eastern seaboard and there is plenty of ULSD.

Watch for the BP diesel signs that are posted, they all have ULSD. We stopped in Carlisle camping and did some biking on the country roads. It has beautiful country side. Try to do some cruising with your Vette if you can. Above Richmond take 17 to 66 to 81 to stay out of DC traffic.

Carlisle is a nice town. I go at least once a year for the Corvette event, sometimes for other events as well. This particular Corvette I'm taking is total trailer queen, so it won't be seeing an ounce of cruising except when it's in my trailer.

I always time my trip so that I hit DC during off hours. That traffic during hour is a MF'er along 95, but it's quicker than up 81 if there's no traffic.

I have found that even if the pumps are labeled LSD, most stations now have ULSD. The Shell station near my house has the LSD label on the pump, but they get their diesel from the same truck as the Shell station 5 miles away that has ULSD. The problem seems to be that it is up to the station owners to correctly lable the pumps. The one near my house is owned by an asian family that would rather sell lots of lottery tickets than correctly label their pumps, I guess. When I asked the cashier about it, he just looked at me funny, said something I did not understand, nodded, and smiled. I told him I would not buy diesel from him until he had the correct labels on the pumps. Seems like people would be anxious to change the labels to keep people from driving off.
