7.3 or 6.0 for running bio?

Is one preferred over the other? If so, why?

I'm thinking of adding another Excursion to my stable, specifically a PSD but want to run bio-diesel (of which variety I'm still unsure). Diesel is still .50 more than gas here so the numbers really have to work out.

I have been running B20 in my 7.3 for about 6 weeks (ish) now, and have not had a single problem. I'll probably change the fuel filter this weekend just to be safe.

FWIW, B20 is about $ .10 cheaper than #2 diesel around here.

We just turned 100,000 miles, all on B100 in our 2001 7.3 F450.

I have run many combinations of bio and dino. Stated mixing myself at the pump with B100 and dino. B20 was my first mix and now I am up to approximately a mix giving me B75 and up B90 bepending on what my current tank level is and what prices are at the time. I use it in both the 6.0 and 7.3 and it runs great. Mileage about the same. Power may be just a little less. Amerigreen (Soybean) Biodiesel has been great so far. Been using it for about 6 months, only in the summer months with the higher concentrations. When winter hits PA I only run a B5 bio/dino blend and there are no gelling issues. Seems to run much quieter too. Hope this helps.

The manual on my 05 psd 6.0 says not to use more than 5% biodiesel, I asked the diesel tech's at the ford dealership and they said not to run bio in it. I am intersted in what you guy say about it. I origanally bought the thing to run DSE, but after reading here about it I have decided not to do it, but I'm now considering making biodiesel
