I have a 2001 Escape XLT with a rear passenger door that will not open from the outside. This has been going on for a while. My back hatch door started doing this also but the glass would open. One day while trying to open the hatch I thought I heard something snap. Oh well, I could still open the glass . Well now the glass will not open. Has any one had problems with doors not opening?

 

Sounds like you need to clean up the mechanism with penetrating oil then use lithium grease to keep them working.
