I tried using a 3/16 ball bearing that I got from a bearing shop. It got stuck in the opening of the sleeve where the bb and spring go in. I did not try to jam the bb down any further although a friend tapped his in and got it to work. I got another sleeve and used a bb from a bb gun and it worked fine. Pressure went from 55 - 68psi.

Primary purpose isn't so much a "mod", as it's usually called, as it is a fix. The spring in the FPR can get weak over time resulting in below spec fuel pressure. Adding a bb brings it back up. It can be used as a mod when higher pressure is desired to support other stuff. In that case it's usually a little bolt and nut set up for adjustability. By the way, a 3/16" bearing is .1875. A bb is just a bit smaller at .177.

I just did mine, measure 56psi stock, added 1 bb which came to 62psi, added another bb to reach 82psi. What i came to find out is that due to the bb being round (duh) part of its total height goes into the spring. What i did is take a small hook (to hang something on the wall) and ground of the hook part so all that was left was the flat base and the screw part. This gave me a little extra height. I could not recheck my pressure as my $3.99 tire guage died but math e maticly it should give me 69psi or so.

i rechecked my pressure with a liquid filled 0-100psi gauge on an air chuck. I found out that my $3.99 pencil gauge was reading high. With a bb and a flat spacer i got 60psi. So i got another hook and reground it abit higher that before and got 70psi.
