Veggie oil in N/A 7.3 or 6.9?

Hello all,
New to the site. Got a question. I am stationed with a guy who has a great Veggie oil set up in his newer Cummins Dodge. It runs well and decent mileage. I'm looking to get a late 80s or early 90s F250. Does the fry oil run ok in N/A deisels?

Thanks, Chromy

Welcome to the site. I can't speak to running an IDI motor on WVO but I am running a 95 PSD on waste Veggie oil with out any issues. Just remember heating the WVO to 160 before injecting it into the motor.

The 7.3L PSD does well on VO. I have heard the 6.0 also does well.
No matter which you have it is imperarive that you do it right. You cannot simply dump VO into the fuel tank and go. You will get away with it for a while but the end result is very costly.

Not sure how cold NC gets but in cold weather you might have a problem unless you prepare with a fuel heater.

Thanks for the info. The set up I would be buying includes the in bed tank, pumps, filters, heating plate and he has an excellent way of prefiltering the oil to make it more usable. He runs the truck's tanks with diesel when he starts it and before he shuts down to keep the engine in good shape. I Suppose I should have included this information earlier. Will the used oil run differently in a turbo engine or will an n/a engine suffice? I am a huge fan of the 6.9/7.3's. My dad ran his first van to 187K and the second to 350k without rebuilds.
