OK, the wife wants a Sport Trac, so we go and look but they have nothing on the lot with the options that she wants. Salesman tells her that we can build it with what she wants and in the end it will take about 6-8 weeks for delivery. At the end of week 8, still no sport trac. Dealer has called today and said that Ford put a stop on all 2007 orders and bumped them up to 2008, but were looking at another 6 weeks for delivery.

So, my questions are these:
1. Are there any major differences in the 2008 vs. 2007 models?
2. Can we fight the dealership for 2007 rebates since Ford bumped the special orders from 2007 to 2008's?

Any input you guys might have would be greatly appreciated.

 

i would call ford district office directly and ask these questions.

 

I get ford Fleet pamphlets at work and as far as i can see Ford is steppin up the options for the 2008, the only diffrence i see in standard options is that the rear window now looks like a standard option.

Ford is also introducing a new thing called "SYNC" its powered by microsoft and it apparently syncs all wireless electric devices to a center console type thing. I would say wait it out for the 2008 but you should diffenitly bitch to them to see if you can get some discounts.

Well, here's the update. After arguing with the daeler, the district office, we have come to an agreement and settled for a Newer Sport Trac instead of the 2008. We got more with this new one, at the same price, than with the one we built. The wife is happy, so thats one less thing I get to hear her complain about. Thanks again for all your replies and hopefully I'll have picuters of the new white Sport Trac in our driveway.
