Frame length short/long 52 f3
Hi everyone!,
my question today is...
I own a 1952 F3, I would like to chop it's frame down to the same length as the F1 shortbed length. Are there any major differences i should look out for?
and how much do i cut out, and where?
thanks in advance!
Eric C.
p.s. I plan on using a 9", springs and shackles out of a 81 F100 for the rearend. i'm not sure what im going with up front yet.

See my gallery. I shortened a 48 F-3 and put an F1 bed, running boards, and fenders on it. You take out 8 inches just behind the cab with a 'Z' cut and 12 inches off the end. Move the rearmost crossmember back toward the cab. The cuts do not interfere with the running board brackets nor the stock rear suspension mounts and you can dump the two-piece driveshaft in favor of a one-piece. I used Chrysler 5th Ave springs for a smooth ride.
