MMM MMM MMM, Toasty!

Hey Guys,

Im trying to help a friend of mine, Judy. Her husbands '99 F350 crew cab 7.3L 2 wheel Auto, melted some wiring under the dash on the drivers side. I have not been able to get to see the truck so I am going off what she has told me. <O</O

Since the melting incident, it has been running like crap and will intermittently die. The interior lights and gauges will also flash on and off.

My initial thought is that it something went really wrong with the GEM.

<O</O

My question is this, is the GEM located in this area on the 99? If not, what is located there on this model year that could burn up like that?

<O</O

Thanks,
<O</O

That's where it is....drop the panel on the lower left of the dashboard. The GEM is almost directly beneath the main light switch.
