Recently the ole truck seems to roll over a lot longer before she starts, good batteries and GPR. Any ideas?

Start ohming the glow plugs. You can do it at the valve cover harnesses on each side.

I thought the glow plugs didn't activate in the warm weather.

They just activate for a shorter period of time. How old are the batts?

Yep they do. Has to do a lot more with oil temp than anything else. You're in Canada, so I guess the definition of "warm weather" might vary a bit. However I've found out how important glow plugs can be even in the summer. Last year the GPR went out, and it was very difficult to start when the engine was cold and the outdoor temps were in the 80's.

However, after re-reading your post I need to ask: is it hard to start at any time no matter what the engine temps are, or just that first morning start before the motor had a chance to warm up?

It just seems to roll over a lot longer than it did in the past, the batteries are about a year old I replaced both at the same time. The temp here has been in the 70s and 80s and it still rolls along time before it starts, but It always starts.

Get an ohm meter (get a digital readout), you can check your glow plugs/injectors by unconnecting the 9 pin connectors at both of the valve covers (near top edge) and use the following info:

GGIICIIGG
G = Glow Plug
I = Injector +
C = Injector -
Ohms between the G and block Ground should be 0.1 - 2.0 ohms.
Ohms between the I and C one at a time if one or more is > 5 ohms, it will point to the side's gasket connector or UVC harness being shorted.

Also check the oil level in your HPOP reservoir by removing the fill screw on top.. should be about 3/4" from the top.. you need enough oil for a quick start..

This will sound dumb but where is the HPOP reservoir?

There are no dumb questions.. Remove your black plastic cover which covers the HPOP and your fuel filter housing.. It is in front of your fuel filter in an alum. housing.. There is a fill screw on top..
