fuel pumps
ok.heres a question for number dummy. I was thumbin throughmy parts catologs(lmc, npd, dennis carpenter) the other day, and came across somthing wierd, Lmc has the same part number for the fuel pump for a up to 1964 272,292,312 and from 65-69 for the 360 and 390. more or less, according to that catolog, I can use a fuel pump from a 292 on a 360 or 390 and vise versa. Now i did a lil more lookin and then 70,71,72 all have different part numbers.
Now my question is, has anyone phyisically tried mounting a 390 or any other FE motor fuel pump on the y-blocks. because if ya can use a FE fuel pump on our y-blocks, that means i cna run an edelbrock fuel pump on my motor or a holley mechanical.
and what is the stock fuel pressure to the carb?

For the fuel pump match you need the same lever profile and mounting bolt pattern. The FEs match. Then the question is do you need a lot more fuel pumped?
Way back in 93 I bought a Holley high performance mechanical pump. It would have fit except in my particular case there is an aftermarket Hurst front motor mount/adapter that interferred, requiring an electric fuel pump.

Way back in 93 I bought a Holley high performance mechanical pump. It fit up well on the motor stand and looked nice and shiny with that chrome. However in my particular case there is an aftermarket Hurst front motor mount/adapter that interferred when putting everything in place on the chasis, requiring an electric fuel pump.
