need information for 400 build

First of all please excuse any ignorance on my part I have been talking to several people on how i should build a 400 to put in my 77 f250. I am not building this engine for "race" I am looking for good info to build a engine for towing purposes.
Information including cam, intake and carb, distributor, headers etc. Should I bore the block, change pistons what type of valves you know the works. I have gotten way to many differant stories so I want to go to the source good knowledgeable Ford Truck People.
My truck has a 351m with a c6 transmission. Engine is weak and I want to replace with a 400.
Thanks for your help
