How is the best way to remove the pulley on the power steering pump on a 302 serpentine set up. It has a allen wrench slot inside of the shaft. Which way does it turn? Is it left hand or standard?

 

I believe the pulley is pressed on and you need a special took (not very expensive) to get it off. The last power steering pump I purchased had this tool included in the pump.

 

Those things are a pain. You need a good puller designed for the task not a three arm unit. Some parts places will pull them for you.

Yep! I checked with the auto parts machine shop that has done a lot of work for me and a $10 bill will get the pulley pressed on and off!
A lot cheaper than me tearing up the pulley trying to get it off.
