Funny how my speedo is more accurate with 285's than with the 265's or 235's
I was doing 58.7 with an indicated speed of 60MPH with the stock tires. (31.6 inches)
I am now going 61 with an indicated speed of 60MPH with 285's. (32.8 inches).

The only reason I didn't put 285's on my 2003 Crew Cab was that I didn't think chains would clear, in a turn, on the front tires. Back then, nobody on this site encouraged the idea that they would when I asked that question. If no chains are ever needed, I think the 285's look better and you will probably get better highway mileage.

I wore out a set of 285 BFG AT TAs. Right now I have a new set of BFG Muds in the stock height of 265. I have a 3.73 and I couldn't notice any difference in power at all.
I got the muds in the narrower 265 because the wider ATs sucked for traction on grass and mud. Sucked bad.
The muds are great and so far I'm happy with them. They did fine in snow. The 285s did look better but I went for usefulness this time around and I don't grind my teeth every time I'm driving across a meadow hill in the rain. The mudders just won't let go.
