'69 bronco engine swap

I have a '69 bronco with a stock 302. The engine is toast, I was able to get my hands on a '95 302 from a f150. My 302 has the Holly pro injection which I plan to keep. I really just want the block off the new motor. Is there any problem hooking the new block to the stock tranny? I am lost and need some accurate advise. So far I've got answer ranging from its no problem to there is no way. Thank you.

Your going to need a couple of things. The '95 has a 50 oz. imbalance the '69 had 28 oz. imbalance.
So you need a harmonic balancer with 50 oz. weights with your bolt pattern. You can get yours rebuilt with the proper balance or buy an aftermarket one with both hole patterns.
The flexplate or flywheel will also have to be a 50 oz balance weight. If your running a c-4 the AOD flexplate will work if you have an 11+ inch converter. Check under the intake of the '95. It might have roller lifters. You will see tie bars between the lifters and a big spider that bolts into the motor. That will tell you it's a steel cam. You would have to either swap in your cam and lifters or put a steel gear on your distributor.
Check the casting numbers on your '69 block. If it's been switched with a newer motor let us know. Some of the things listed might have already been done.

Thank you for the response. I do have a little bit more information. I have a stock 3 speed manual transmission and a 10" 164 tooth flywheel (part number: 65AE-6380-E). It is the same diameter and tooth number as what is on the 1995. The '95 does have the steel cam. I was unable to find casting numbers on my '69 block. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Looks like the newer flywheel should work. Just take some measurements to be sure. THe casting numbers will be under the starter on the block.
Damper Dudes can redo your damper or I picked up a new one from summit for around 70 bucks.

What is the proper firing order for a '95 302. I have found two different sequences: 1-5-4-3-6-2-7-8 and 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. If there is no difference than why the discrepencey? thank you.

The 5.0 HO out of mustangs has the same firing order as any 351W. Im guessing your working on a 95 bronco 302. From what I hear that after 1994 all 302's came with the 351W firing order. anything pre 94 was 15426378, 302s after 94 and all 351's firing order is 13726548.

More problems fitting the new 302 into the stock bell housing. I bought a new 50oz flywheel but now i'm unable to find a clutch to match the hole pattern on the new flywheel. Does anybody have a solution beside having the flywheel retapped. thank you.

More swap headaches

I am still attempting to get my '69 bronco running with the new '95 motor. I was able to get the motor in with some effort and new flywheel and clutch. I am trying to retain the '95s water pump, alternator, powersteering pump and serpentine belt. Does anyone have any knowledge on whether or not this headache is worth it or not? The connection to my wiring harness is not compatable with the '95 alt? Also what do I do with the air pump and a/c compressor? Thank you in advance for any advice.

I have heard that the serpentine belt system off an 87 mustang works well, im not sure of the difference between that of a 95, what was the donor vehicle? I have founds quite a bit on info off of bcbroncos.com's tech forums and classicbroncos.com. Keep us posted on how things are working and problems you run into because im going to use my existing 351 and swap in the top half of a FI 87 stang and id like to the serpentine and ac off of that with an aod.

Thanks for replying. The 95 motor came from a Ford F-150. Does that mean that I need the alt., ps, wp and belt off the stang or can I just use the serp. belt.?

I guess I havnt messed with a mid 90's F-150 enough to know how close they are to the stang. I know that the mustangs were a roller cam motor, and a reverse rotation water pump. I honestly couldnt tell you about the F-150. Im willing to bet that its all pretty much the same, and would work. Id maybe ask they guys over in the F150 Forums, I know they have different intakes so hight would be the only problem I would assume, but assuming just makes an ass of you and me
