Scanner with reset/clear code ability?

I'm trying to diagnose trans problems with my 94 F250 IDI 7.3 turbo-diesel. NOT a Powerstroke.
I've never needed a code scanner before. I've been looking around and it seems the cheap ones in the $30 price range do not allow resetting or clearing of codes. I want something that will tell me error codes, but also allow me to reset the computer to put the trans. back into normal operating mode. Any ideas?

I checked PartsAmerican and they sell the Actron CP9015 that will fit my truck and read codes - but will not clear or reset - costs $30.

They also sell the Actron CP9150 which WILL allow me to clear - but it costs $650 - no way am I going to spend that much.

Any suggestions?

with an idi diesel, the only codes you are going to get are trans codes if you have an e4od trans.

Yes, that's why I want the scanner. I'm trying to diagonose some transmission problems. I also want to be able to reset the computer to put the trans back into the normal mode after an OD flashing event.

There is a procedure with the cheap reader to erase the continuous memory codes as well, again, I have the 30 dollar Walmart version, works well.

turn the code reader off while its spiting out codes or unplug the unit from the self test connector... or just disconnect the batterys or the 40pin connector at the processor for 5 mins will do it..
