4x4 F150 with Triton V8- MPG?

I drove my bud's truck, seems to have great power. I was just wondering what some of you might have gotten as far as gas mileage. I think it has the 3 valve heads. It has "H9" for the rear code, auto trans, and the FX4 package.

Thanks!
Bob

Depends on where you are located. If you are in a large urban area where reformulated gas is required you can expect 12-13 mpg. If not, 15-16mpg seems common.

Is that in town, highway, or mixed?

Thanks.

Mixed. Expect 4 -5 MPG more on highway only.

snowdog79 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
I have averaged 17.5 MPG through the first 4400 miles, rural highway with some city thrown in.

I've been getting 14-17 with mixed highway amd city driving, usually around 16 for a average. I've hit 17 a few times cruising around 55-60MPH and out of the throttle a lot, on a few longer trips.

I average 16-17 on my 2005 FX4. It's mostly Highway driving and a lot of stop and go in Rush hour traffic.

Yeah, that'll work for a while, but I want to go to Maine in August, he might notice it missing for that long.

Really just want to know because I am thinking of downsizing from my 250, and want to know at what point I can stop. I have been looking at Rangers also.
