I'd be suprised if the 4.4L was out "in less than a year".
The engine was first mentioned several years ago and at that point it was more thsan a concept. I think Mortimer at AWK wrote about it in August 2005 and at that point it was sensational. It was further told that some of the production would be at Fords OK Dagenham facility but that seems changer in favour for the Chihuahua-plant.

Me too. A fat lady singing is not my idea of ending on a positive note.

There's a Dodge I see running around here pretty often. It's got a good six or 8 inches of lift, 35"s, real nice truck, sees the mud. Has a HUGE decal across the back window that says.

Well...I can't imagine why an F-550 would have the 4.4L in it, that would be quite underpowered in anything the size and weight of the F-550.

Not to mention, if there was anything running around with a 4.4L Ford diesel in it, it'd be all over the net.

Is he sure it said "4.4" and not "4x4"? He does drive a Chevy, after all...

yes yes...I know...I do too...let's just forget that for a minute

Best be nice to the Chevy guy as he seems to know more about Ford trucks than many here.

The Ford LCF comes with a 4.5L V6 "Power Stroke" diesel as the base engine.

What is a Ford lcf? I saw a black F-150 with racing stripes running down the middle of the truck (think Cobra stripes) a solid tonneau cover on it that said 4.5l on the back of it I though I misread it at first but now I think I am right.
