Exclamation Does anyone know what ZONES are?

I was resetting my trip meter to check what I was getting to the mile and when I taped the change sequence button it displayed a "zone number" I scrolled through what seemed to be 15 zones. I left it on 10 and got a lot of problems with the truck going into "limp home mode" I tried about 10 minutes and finally got the zone display to show again and I put it back to one and no more problems.

Has anyone seen this before?

the Zones is for setting your compass. They correspond to different regions of the US, you'll see a map of the US in your owner's manual and the different zone numbers. So you'll want to set the zone number based on where you live.

If your truck went to "limp home" based on magnetic declination settings, there would seem to be a much larger underlying problem. Having the wrong declination angle (zone) should only give you errors in your compass output.

Now there's a mental picture for ya, a "homing" truck.
