New to the minifarm.
I wound up with a third goat today. It came via the stork. It is cute as a button and getting around pretty good already its not stumbling around as much as you would expect from a newborn. It is a girl.
Matt if you have any tips of what I should do to help keep this newborn happy and healthy it would be appreciated. Is their anything special I should feed mom for better milk production? I have never dealt with a newborn goat. Also how soon can I let pop get back in the pen? I know they can't be together when the kid gets old enough for breeding.

Congrats on the new arrival!
make sure nanny has plenty of greens and or good hay.some sweet feed daily won't hurt either. i use godfreys feed made in madison, you can find it at most any feed n tac store.
it may be best to let nanny and baby stay by themselves for the first coupla weeks if possible.
after that i just turn them all out togather and things seem just fine.
keep me posted on how it goes, good luck!!

Thanks for the info. I have some 14% protein sweetfeed for her. Her normal browse is about 10.5% protein. She tears into alot of chinese privet. Ofcourse she has alot of other stuff she nibbles on too. I take her a variety of things daily and some times I just let her roam for a little bit because she does not run from you when its time to put her up. The baby is doing great. Poppa is a little upset I am having to keep him tied by the other barn because I only have one fence. He does ok being tied but objects somewhat.
