Thought about it... Petersens did an install on a white cherokee a few years ago, and got really good results as far as reducing engine compartment temperatures. I have'nt had any problems of overheating since I rebuilt the engine, but if I do then those will be the first thing to go on.

i dont have a problem with overheating either - but a cooler engine is always a good thing no matter what. more hp. more life.

now to get past the sickening feeling i have when i think of butchering my beautiful spotless hood!!

eh IDI diesels tend to over-cool themselves at idle, so I may not be able to run something like that in the winter down here. bad for the idi's, iirc long article about how it messes with the fuel combustion and hell if i remember what.

find another one in a j-yard and butcher it up! if nothing else use it as practice!

yea diesels in general have a much easier time dissipating heat than gassers! i ran my PSD without a rad fan last winter (in GA's very mild winter!) and it never got close to getting hot enough to make me sweat (pun intended!).

I've talked to a few guys up north in Canukland who cut out a pice of plywood and put it front of their rad for the winters... glad its not that cold down here, although with the blizzards that Stillwater saw this past winter, I probably could have gotten away with it while I was at school

lol i dont know about all that, i have just been there, done that. never with a hood but stuff like tailgates and doors... yes. usually the pull a part will have stuff you can yank for a minimum price and does just as good!

good luck!

AND - the theory is sound...heat rises - give it an exit. simple enough.
