I'm not trying to be a wiseguy or anything...but...just a question...will the 5.4L SOHC Triton actually TAKE that kind of abuse?? I know the Mustang 5.4L blocks can, but they are built for such things, I don't think our trucks are. With all the problems we all have with cam phasers and such, is NOS such a good idea?? I'm even leery about ordering a Roush charger for my FX4. Just a question being thrown out there.

unless you're talking about the GT 500, the Mustang comes with a 2v, 3v or 4v 4.6 V-8. The 5.4 is built more than strong enough for nitrous. Just make sure you get a good kit and run the motor with plenty of air. A lean motor with nitrous is a dead motor.

I think you mean plenty of fuel? When you start adding power, it's the lack of fuel (lean condition) that will take out an engine quicker than anything. "Safe" operation is on the rich side of the equation.

The 5.4 in the F-150 can take slightly more then 400 RWHP. You're probably looking at around 300-315 HP to the wheels with a 100HP kit -- plenty of margin.

Don't be leary. Roush keeps your warranty to 36K if an authorized dealer installs it, otherwise they warranty it for 10K.

Are you installing a "wet" kit or a "dry" kit. The wet kit uses two solenoids. One for N20, and one for fuel. The dry kits rely on the 02 sensors and OEM injectors to keep the fuel mixture correct at WOT. If you are running a dry kit you may want to step up and install higher flow injectors, and maybe even a higher flow fuel pump. If it gets lean you will burn holes in the top of the pistons, quick!

If money wasn't an issue... would a supercharger be a better idea then NO2 ? I had a propane injected diesel and i didnt like how i had to fill up the tanks all the time =\ but it was fun!

A supercharger gives more power at all RPMs, all the time, with predictable and linear throttle response without worrying about refilling bottles or heating them up for max power. NO2 has often been called poor-mans boost.

NOS is perfectly safe if used properly. I've seen it successfully/safely used thousands of times, but also unsuccesssful quite a few times also. On a truck that's your driver, don't be weary of shutdown sensors that monitor fuel pressure and things like that, they'll help keep you from detonating(literally) your motor.
