Fuel Filter Drain Valve Question

Fuel Filter Drain Valve Question
Hi Everybody:
I went to change my fuel filter yesterday and when I pushed the yellow lever over to drain the bowl, it wouldn't drain. After making a mess by removing the filter with a full bowl of fuel and then clearing the bowl out, it appears as if the yellow plastic lever has separated from the stem or something of the sort.
Just wandering if any of you have had this happen to your ride and how big of a problem it was to correct it.

I haven't had that happen but I think I remember someone else posting that same problem.
It isn't too hard to fix yourself. There are four #20 Torx screws on the back of the fuel bowl (around the lever) that hold the valve assembly into the fuel bowl. You remove those and the whole valve will come right out. Pop your new one in, replace the screws and you're good to go.

The yellow handle sits on top of the drain valve. It interlocks to the nylon valve stem in the drain and should not separate unless the unit is removed or broken. If it is broken, you will have to do as Scott said and relpace the entire drain valve.
