200 CID six/226 Flathead Compatability

Any in-liners out there have any experience or information on what it would take to bolt a 67 200 CID Six in place of a 226 Flathead?

at the bare minimum you'll need a universal V8 front mount bar for putting a 302 into a pre-64 ford pickup (transdapt 4849 should be close to what you need). Mount it farther forward then the V8 would need and weld atatchment points for 200 motor mounts on it. To mate the 200 bell to the existing transmission you'll need an adapter plate to go from a 65-up ford engine to a 49-64 ford transmission (I think its a transdapt TD0009). if the flatheads transmission is an early model (pre-49) your most likely SOL and will need to swap transmissions too.

The 200 I-6 is extremely Under-powered for a truck, that engine was designed for use in light cars such as Falcons, Mustangs & Econolines.
The F-series light trucks weight in @ 4,500 to 6,500lbs.

All my F trucks (77, 84, 95) weighed under 4000 lbs. Still the 200 is a bit lightweight. Go for a 300.
