Cool Emergency Brake on 99

I am deliquent in using the E brake. The other day I went to use it on a Ferry Boat and the peddle went ALL the way to the floor. The rear brakes appear to be fine. I haven't looked at anything yet. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like it. My gut feeling is a cable problem.

Gevans17 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
the parking brake shoe and lining diameter may need to be adjusted. The diameter adjustment is made with the brake adjuster screw located in the parking brake assembly. The parking brake control is a spring loaded component and is not adjustable.

Looking at the rear brakes won't help. The pads are not the e brake. The e brake is inside the rotor on both sides. You will have to remove the rotors to get to it.

Wink

I just fixed it. The LH cable was rusded through. The cable sheath had a bad spot in it. I got a new one through a friend 20.50 from Ford. It took a little noodling to get the new one installed, but finally I prevailed. Connect both ends of the cable to their respective connections THEN snap the cable sheath ends into their holding fixtures and install the cable support. Back up and running in no time.
