Well at least I think I have the fastest 97, 4.0, allwheel drive aerostar in the world. That's cause I had to send my computer in to get a chip burned. That means that diablo had never done one for the 97's, and at least for a while I've got the only one!
Trouble is it's real hard getting other aerostars to race.

on a quiet night your can hear a chevy (lol, you can watch a dodge) rusting away
Actually, I do remember reading in one of the news groups where somebody had an old magazine article where they installed a mustang high performance (I think 3.8 lit?) in an aerostar and had a lot of fun with it.
It would have to be a pretty small engine to fit into that space.
Three reasons (probably more then that).
I no longer have to carry around a soccer team and goal posts, so I can think about trying to pass an 18 wheeler at 75mph.
As far as I can tell, virtually nobody has figured out a way to increase the horses.
I love this van. (hey where else could you get a all wheel drive, 5 sp auto, fully loaded anything for under 22grand?)
Well, whatever floats your boat. Its always nice to have something different. Why don't you plumb it for nos while you're at it...seeing the expression on the face of the kid in the riceburner getting spanked by a mini would be a hella kodak moment

Now NOS, there's an idea. But there's no room for the tank under the hood ( I doubt that a flashlight would fit). Would it be safe or practical to have the tank under the last seat? And if so would that cause a delay for the NOS to travel that far?
Take an old toolbox, cut out the bottom, and attach it to the rear floor of the van behind the seat. Vent it out under the vehicle in case of leaks, and run the lines up to the front. It shouldn't delay anything because the lines should be purged and already full after everything is set up properly (do you think racers would mount their bottles in the trunk if distance from engine mattered?). I figure that if a trunk is safe for racing where there is basically just the rear seat back between the bottle and the driver, an all-steel toolbox would be just as safe. Good luck and have fun!

Sheesh...now ya have me thinkin (dangerous)....Maybe the 460 thats in my garage for my 79 Bronco....should go in my wifes 93 Aerostar....We already have the middle seat out....Do you think she would mind if I "tinkered" with her van a little....lol
Actually, I have heard a rumor of a 7.5L v-12 soon to be made from GMC, one of those in there would probbably be better than the old 460 v-8 simply because of the shorter stroke in the v-12. I dought the wife would mind a big hump where the kids used to sit, or a 4" ram air tube seperating the driver from the passenger. She might mind your drag racing at stop-lights when you pull up near a rice-burner.
