Pictures of 'Wiring Fault' Message Fix
Thanks to Strut61 in another thread, for the details on how to take apart the trailer plug. I took apart the plug and took pictures. It had water in it AGAIN. It was also full of silicone. I took it apart and took a blow dryer to it and have no more message.....until it rains again. Good to know this is a temporary fix. I still can't pull a trailer in the rain!!
You'll have to go to my gallery to see photos. Can't post attachments. Not sure why not.

After you dry-out the connector and put dielectric silicone grease in the connector. Get some "Coax-Seal" tape or 3M "Scotch-Seal 2229 Mastic Tape", 06147 Electrical Moisture Sealant Roll or Scotch 130C tape and wrap around the joint were the plug & connector meet and were the wires enter the plug to prevent water from entering in the future.
I am curious as to why these plugs are more suseptible to water than they were in the 2007 and earlier trucks as they were used on those as well.
This tape can be found at your local electronics store, hardware store or Big box store.

FYI guys,
Ford had FILLED the plug cavity with dielectric silicone grease. Didn't work. That's why I had to use the blow dryer after I took it apart. I didn't clean out all the grease they put in there, just dried up the water that intruded anyway. I have yet to seal the plug itself. Shrink wrap sounds great though! I looked today for the tape that blackhat told me to get, just haven't found it yet. So far, rain all day today, and no message.
Tools required: #10 metric socket
Blow Dryer & extension cord

The dielectric grease is to help prevent corrosion from mositure intrusion but it will not make a completely water tight seal. You want both the dielectric grease in the plug and then seal the external joints/openings to prevent water from running into the connection.
