I know alot more about carburated engine than I do fuel injected. The engine in question has a problem and I'm not sure what it is. It could be a head gasket, EFI computer could be bad, fuel system problem, i just don't know. I can replace the whole thing (engine) for about $1000.00. So what i am wondering is "Can I drop a 351w carborated engine in and have it work like a carborated engine should or will their be a problem because the truck is set up for fuel injection right now????

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Sep-02 AT 09:43*PM (EST)]All you need is to get a new intake manifold(go to the junk yard or something) try to find a throttle cable why you are there. Then you take out all your FI stuff and take off the manifold and put the carberated intake manifold on, put the carb on, then set up your throttle cable, simple as that.

Not exactly, you will need to put in a low pressure fuel pump and modify the pick up tube,or put in a regulator to drop the fuel pressure.A carb sysytem can't run at 35 psi.If you have an auto tranny you will need either a kickdown rod or if it's an AOD a tv cable hook up.You will also need a duraspark distributor and ignition box or an aftermarket ignition(msd). The cheapest way would be to find a carb truck you can raid for the parts.

You seem to a bright type of person,
EFI isn't that hard to figure out, get
a decent manual, read it, it's not
rocket science, no more difficult to
get your brain around than a Holley...
