Turbo 302

Does anyone have any experience putting a turbo on the 302? I have a 1992 F-150 NITE with the 302. I think it's a MAP system. It has the two opening throttle body. I can build the exhaust myself and the intake runners but, don't know what I would have to change electronically. I have a schwitzer turbo for it. I plan on low boost (4-6lbs) so I don't have to open the engine. I just want to bolt things up and go. Would the stock EFI handle it or would I have to get a chip or what? Any informed opinions are appreciated! Thanks!

You don't have to worry about the computer, it will adjust. There are a lot of other worries. You will have do reduce compression. The fuel injectors will need to be changed with one able to deliver more fuel. If you do this be sure to post pics, I had thought about it before, but don't havee the money to do all that is needed.

I'm going to run low (4-6) boost so, the compression should be ok. I can turn up my fuel pressure which allows stock injectors to flow more fuel. It's the same principle used on my bike. Although, I do have larger injectors on it.

Doing twin t-3's on my 87 302 about 8 psi. Have to have bigger injectors, about 30 lb, 2 bar map sensor, and i know a guy who "can" get the computers fuel map redone. Starting the project next month. Don't forget you have to plumb your oil feed and return line. Will post pics when i start. hope that helped a little bit
